Rambo-Style Shooter Goes Postal at FedEx

Posted on 6:00 AM by Gawar

The name Kennesaw is derived from the Cherokee Indian word gah-nee-sah meaning cemetery or burial ground. The name hit home on April 29, 2014.

At least six victims have been taken to a hospital after a shooting this morning at a FedEx facility in Kennesaw, Georgia, Cobb County police say. The shooting happened at a Fed-Ex facility at 1675 Airport Road in Kennesaw.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene of the suspected workplace shooting.

Officials from WellStar Kennestone Hospital say they've received six patients from the shooting, hospital spokesman Tyler Pearson said. One of the six was in surgery, he said. Injuries range from minor to serious. Kennestone is a Level II Trauma Center.

A witness stated the FedEx 19-year-old shooter, dressed all in black, had an assault rifle, a knife and bullets strapped across his chest, "like Rambo."

Rambo is a film series based on the David Morrell novel First Blood and starring Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo, a troubled Vietnam War veteran and former Green Beret who is skilled in many aspects of survival, weaponry, hand to hand combat and guerrilla warfare. The series consists of the films First Blood (1982), Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), Rambo III (1988), and Rambo (2008).
FedEx is "aware of the situation," company spokesman Scott Fielder said when asked about reports of a shooting.

Officials say the lone suspected gunman was found dead, likely from a self-inflicted gun shot wound. The gunman is described as a "package handler," an employee of the facility.

The gunman has been identified as Geddy Kramer. Kramer was a 2013 graduate of North Cobb High School.
Kennesaw is about 30 miles northwest of Atlanta.

On Friday, March 28, 2014, a FedEx employee, a 48-year-old female, making deliveries was shot and wounded in Chicago. The company confirmed the victim is an employee. Police say the Friday night shooting occurred in the Oakland neighborhood on the city's South Side.
+++

While "going postal," as a phrase, has come into usage, due to the workplace violence incidents at the United States Postal Services, there appears to be more silence regarding any kind of similar phenomenon occurring at FedEx centers and workplaces. Before this one.

But buried deep in workplace violence documents, there are hints of a greater problem.

The following incident of April 7, 1994, is mentioned in a workplace violence white paper:
"A Federal Express pilot took a claw hammer and attacked three others in the cockpit, forcing one of them to put the fully loaded DC-10 cargo plane through a series of violent rolls and nose dive that brought the whole crew back bleeding....The case of Auburn R. Calloway, on the other hand, who attacked three of his fellow Federal Express pilots, was unpredictable. Calloway had organized his Neighborhood Watch Program and was an ex-Navy pilot. However, he was scheduled to appear the next day before a disciplinary hearing at Federal Express to face charges that he had lied about his military and work experience."

The official FedEx employee manual states:

WORKPLACE VIOLENCE

FedEx has zero tolerance for workplace violence and has established clear standards of behavior in our policies. Conflicts must always be resolved in a peaceful, professional and respectful manner. The FedEx Workplace Violence Prevention Program helps to provide team members and vendors with a safe and secure work environment. Our mission is to increase awareness of developing situations and other indicators of workplace violence. Unauthorized firearms or weapons are strictly prohibited on company-leased or -owned property and in buildings, aircraft or vehicles. Possession of firearms or weapons on company property may be grounds for immediate dismissal.

All FedEx employees are responsible for reporting potential or actual situations of workplace violence either through a special web-based reporting system, contacting a member of FedEx Management, Security or Human Resources, or calling the FedEx Alert Line in their respective countries.

All reported instances of workplace violence are investigated by a Workplace Violence Response Team, which is a group established to help maintain a safe and secure workplace. The team is made up of members from the following areas: Security, Legal, Human Resources, Benefits, Safety, Contract Relations and the Employee Assistance Program. When the Response Team receives a report of potential workplace violence, they properly investigate and make a recommendation of action to be taken.

Mike Ruppert, 63, Dies of Suicide

Posted on 10:28 AM by Gawar
"The path you're supposed to follow is the only one that's left open in front of you." ~ Michael C. Ruppert

Right before John Judge died, another so-called "conspiracy theorist" died.

Michael Ruppert was found dead in Napa County at home just outside of the Calistoga, California city limits on April 13, 2014. Ruppert reportedly died of a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. This has been confirmed by close friend and property owner/landlord Jack Martin. Martin is the man who found Ruppert's body.

The Napa Valley Register reports,
Nationally known author Michael Ruppert died Sunday [April 13, 2014] of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in Calistoga where he had lived for a few months on a friend’s property. He was 63.
A former Los Angeles Police Department officer who later became a political activist, Ruppert was found dead Sunday on a property in the 1100 block of Tubbs Lane, where he had been staying in a trailer for a few months, according to information from the Napa County Sheriff’s Office and business partner Wesley T. Miller of Lake Oswego, Ore.
Ruppert’s writing delved into a number of political issues, including peak oil, climate change, 9/11, public corruption and the Central Intelligence Agency.
“It’s been hard to stop crying the last couple of days,” Miller said from Oregon.
Napa County Sheriff’s Capt. Doug Pike said deputies were sent to Tubbs Lane after the property owner asked for a welfare check at 8:49 p.m. Sunday. Ruppert was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, he said.
Miller said his friend shot himself after taping his last show for Progressive Radio Network, an Internet radio station. According to the radio station’s website, Ruppert hosted “The Lifeboat Hour.”
Miller posted his friend’s suicide note on Collapse Network, a news site Miller co-founded with Ruppert in 2010.
Ruppert had moved to Calistoga after leaving Colorado where he resided for 1 1/2 year, Miller said. A longtime Californian, he had also lived in Sebastopol.

Collapse Network leaves little doubt about suicide being the cause of Ruppert's death.

Ruppert's suicidal note to his friend, Jack Martin.

Generally, Ruppert was "described as a conspiracy theorist by numerous mainstream media outlets."
Michael C. Ruppert (February 3, 1951 – April 13, 2014) was an American author, a former Los Angeles Police Department officer, investigative journalist, political activist and peak oil awareness advocate.
Until 2006, he published and edited From The Wilderness, a newsletter and website covering a range of topics including international politics, the C.I.A., peak oil, civil liberties, drugs, economics, corruption and the nature of the 9/11 conspiracy. He served as president of Collapse Network, Inc until he resigned in May 2012, when he gave 35 percent of his 55 percent share back to the company's founders. He hosted The Lifeboat Hour on Progressive Radio Network until 2014.
Ruppert was the author of Crossing The Rubicon: The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil. He was the subject of the 2009 documentary film Collapse, which was based on his book A Presidential Energy Policy and received the New York Times' "critics pick". In 2014, VICE featured Ruppert in a 4-part series titled Apocalypse, Man. Source.

It is to be noted that Michael Ruppert's life was entangled with that of "Dark Alliance" newspaper journalist Gary Webb. On December 10, 2004, Webb was found dead from two gunshot wounds to the head. Sacramento County coroner Robert Lyons ruled that it was suicide, noting that a suicide note was found at the scene.

Ruppert, like Judge, had worked with Representative Cynthia McKinney. For example, Michael Ruppert was a participant in the Citizens Commission on 9/11, an all day event in New York City, on September 9, 2004, chaired by Rep. McKinney. This forum highlighted most of the best investigators and commentators on 9/11 issues, including Ruppert, John Judge, Barrie Zwicker, Michael Springman, Indira Singh, Jenna Orkin, Nicholas Levis and others.

John Judge, 66, Passes Away

Posted on 3:44 PM by Gawar
“I tell people you can call me a conspiracy theorist if you call everyone else a coincidence theorist,” John Judge once told National Journal.

If you were around to listen to Mae Brussell's weekly radio program, World Watchers, then you know the name John Judge. He was a shining light of intelligence on her programs, and demonstrated he researched his connections deeply.

John Judge, 66, who researched the assassinations of JFK, Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as well as doing unique research on Jonestown, 9/11, and UFOs, has left the building.

Judge, the founder of the Committee on Political Assassinations and tireless activist for open government, has died. John had a stroke this past winter but had improved to the point where he was moved to a rehabilitation center where he suddenly passed away on apparently the first night he was there, on April 15, 2014.

John Patrick Judge was born Dec. 14, 1947, in the District, and he grew up in Falls Church, Va. Both his parents worked at the Pentagon.

The Washington Post recalled John Judge thusly,
Through years of investigation and activism, Mr. Judge developed a devoted following in the community of skeptics who question official or commonly accepted narratives of the past. He co-founded and directed the Coalition on Political Assassinations, an organization whose activities include investigating the deaths in the 1960s of John Kennedy, his brother Robert F. Kennedy, civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and black nationalist leader Malcolm X. News outlets, with some frequency, featured Mr. Judge and his work.
He turned his Washington home into a repository of thousands of volumes and documents on political assassinations and other matters, supporting himself over the decades through odd jobs and fundraising work. He was once described as a “professional conspiracist,” but he considered himself an “alternate historian,” according to his Web site,judgeforyourself.org.
“I tell people you can call me a conspiracy theorist if you call everyone else a coincidence theorist,” Mr. Judge quipped to the publication National Journal.
His most noted work involved President Kennedy’s death in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963. Like legions of others doubters labeled conspiracy theorists, Mr. Judge rejected the Warren Commission’s finding that Lee Harvey Oswald had been the lone gunman. Read more here.

The 21st Century Wire called Judge the "Godfather of Alternative Media," and noted that
Judge also served as a Congressional aid to firebrand Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney from Georgia. Author Daniel McAdams knew Judge and commented in his passing, “We had the pleasure of working briefly with John while he served as Rep. Cynthia McKinney’s aide in Congress. He would occasionally come by the office and I recall being so enormously impressed by his fierce intelligence and his great courage. In a world dominated by 20-something staffers who in the main were convinced they ruled the world but whose arrogance was only matched by their ignorance, you can imagine what a treat it was when John Judge stopped by. He was a giant and he will be greatly missed.”
...
McKinney’s eulogy demonstrates the measure of the man, "It is with even great sadness that I report to you the loss of my dear, dear, dear, dear friend John Judge of the 9/11 Truth Community. If ever there was a loyal friend to me, it was John Judge."

John Judge was the
...co-founder of 9/11 Citizens Watch, Judge also did investigative research on the background and details of the attacks of September 11, 2001. He worked with family members of the victims to push for a federal investigation and closely monitored the work of the 9/11 Commission.
Judge was also a co-founder of CHOICES, an organization engaged since 1985 in countering military recruitment in DC area high schools and educating young people about their options with regard to the military. Beginning with the war in Viet Nam, Judge was a life-long anti-war activist and supporter of active-duty soldiers and veterans. Your World News.
People in the conspiracy community were shocked to hear of John Judge's death. Many felt he had been recovering.

The Washington Post observed that John Judge's companion of four years, Marilyn Tenenoff of York Haven, Pennsylvania, said that Judge had a stroke in March but that the cause of death had not been determined. The D.C. medical examiner’s office had not ruled on the case, according to a spokesman.

See Marilyn Tenenoff's remembrance here.

Hurricane Carter's Name Game: The Fayette Factor and More

Posted on 11:16 AM by Gawar

Rubin "Hurricane" Carter died on April 20, 2014. He was born on May 6, 1937, became an American middleweight boxer, was convicted of murder and later was freed via a petition of habeas corpus after spending almost 20 years in prison.

A book by Carter, a movie starring Denzel Washington as Carter, and a Bob Dylan song/album made this acknowledged troubled individual famous.
To understand Rubin Carter one must explore two different sides of his history. The split is between that of a psychopath killer (see here and here) and a racially mistreated prisoner (see here and here). I am not going to debate or even come down on one side or the other about the real man behind who the Hurricane might have been. There is a media creation and there is the man. Someone else can judge who that man may have been.

I merely want to briefly point out an incredible synchromystical overlapping of special names in Rubin Carter's history.

The various biographies, obituaries, and articles on Rubin Carter point out that "police arrested both Carter and friend John Artis for a triple-homicide in the Lafayette Bar and Grill in Paterson, New Jersey."

The date, June 17, 1966.

The time of the crime, 2:30 am.

The Lafayette Bar and Grill is located at 428 East 18th Street and the corner of Lafayette Street. 4+2+8+1+8 = 23.

No wonder The Last SHE has such a strong reaction to this "coincidence."

See "The Fayette Factor." And my Boing Boing contribution, "RAW Week: 23 Skidoo + 5 -- Robert Anton Wilson Again, By Loren Coleman."

Another important name in the scenario is a form of Bell. See "The Bell Name."

Petty criminal Alfred Bello, who had been near the Lafayette that night to burglarize a factory, was an eyewitness. Bello later testified that he was approaching the Lafayette when two black males—one carrying a shotgun, the other a pistol—came around the corner walking towards him. He ran from them, and they got into a white car that was double-parked near the Lafayette.

1. The getaway car is park alongside the Lafayette Grill.
2. Bello heads to the bar to buy cigarettes and...
3. Confronts the two gunmen as they leave. He runs down the street as the car pulls away. Pat Valentine, another important eyewitness, sees its distinctive taillights from her second floor window above the bar.

Both Alfred Bello and Valentine were allegedly able to describe the distinctive tail lights of Carter’s white car in considerable detail.

Therefore comes forth another significant name, Valentine.

Why has the history of this one murder scene magnetically created a synchromystic name game tied to Rubin Carter? No one knows.

This curious moment in history has certainly mushroomed into a cultural event beyond what anyone could have imagined in 1966, that is for certain.

Hollywood Rumor Mill Links Tom Cruise To 33 Again

Posted on 8:06 AM by Gawar

A couple years ago, I highlighted the strange "coincidence" to be found in Tom Cruise ending his relationships when his partners turn 33. The details are in "Tom Cruise: 33° of Separation" and "Cruise and 33 Again."

Perez Hilton (who missed one of the 33-breakups I point out) theorized, due to the fact Cruise was a Scientologist, his relationship endings had something to do with where his religion was founded. Hilton said: "the Hubbard Association of Scientologists, the forerunner of the Church of Scientology, was established in Phoenix, Arizona. And Phoenix lies on the 33rd parallel."

I explore the synchromystic significance of "33" and other elements in those essays. The Fayette Factor also comes into play, as the "Hubbard" being discussed is L. Ron Hubbard, with the "L." standing for "Lafayette."

Earlier this week, rumors began to circulate that Tom Cruise was involved with Laura Prepon, the redheaded actress playing Donna Pinciotti on That '70s Show. She also appeared as Hannah Daniels on October Roads, and currently as Alex Vause doing naked shower scenes in Orange is the New Black (shown above with the shaker tattoo).

While Laura Prepon is 34 years old, as of March 7th, the rumors of their dating appear to extend back to when she was 33. Was Tom aware of the 33 curse, and trying to break it?

In a December 2007 interview in Women's Health, Prepon stated that she is a Scientologist, like Cruise.

<><><>

Laura refers to the laurel tree, and in ancient Rome the rulers were given laurels as wreaths to symbolize their power. (My first name, Loren, is a variant on that name game.)

The Anomalist's Chris Savia writes:  "I was unable to find an etymology of Prepon, but there are references to a Prepon, an Assyrian, and his heresy, which [involves] deep scripture and teachings."

<><><>

By the weekend, most sources, including Cruise's spokespeople, were claiming the rumors tying Cruise and Prepon together as a couple were all false.

They run into each other at Scientology functions, only, we are being told.

Canadian Stabbing Spree Leaves Five Dead

Posted on 7:41 PM by Gawar

There has been a mass stabbing spree in Canada that has left five dead, including two members of a rock band, Zackariah Rathwell and Josh Hunter.

Matt de Grood, 22, is accused of killing five people during an end-of-year college party in the Calgary suburb of Brentwood on April 15. Police say the attack began at 1:20 a.m. Five people -- four men and one woman -- were killed. De Grood has been charged with five counts of first-degree murder.

The suspect.
Less than a week after a stabbing in Pennsylvania left 22 injured, five college students have died in the "worst mass murder" in the Canadian city's history
A 23-year-old man will likely face murder charges after allegedly stabbing and killing five University of Calgary students at a party Tuesday.
After arriving at a party shortly after midnight on Tuesday, the suspect — who was an invited guest and is a also a student at the university — allegedly targeted other students individually, according to Calgary Police Chief Rick Hanson. “The suspect arrived at the party, obtained a large knife and targeted the victims one by one, stabbing them,” said Hanson.

Calling the incident “the worst mass murder in Calgary’s history,” the chief identified the arrested suspect as Matthew de Grood, a University of Calgary student.
Hanson said de Grood had no prior history with the police and was likely not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time. Police believe he brought a weapon directly from his place of work to the party, but used knife found at the party to stab his victims.
“The suspect arrived at the party, obtained a large knife and targeted the victims one by one, stabbing them,” Hanson said.
The victims were four males and one female.... Source.
De Grood's father, Inspector Doug de Grood, is a Calgary policeman with 33 years of experience.

The name de Grood originally was written as de Groot, which is composed of the adjective groot, from middle Dutch grote, meaning big or great, preceded by the definite article de, meaning the. It was originally a nickname for a tall person.

Meanwhile, today, the anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings, had a moment of bizarreness in Boston.

Boylston Street was evacuated Tuesday night after two bags were left at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Both bags were detonated by the Bomb Squad.
At least one of the bags was being carried by a barefoot man who was wearing a long black veil and screaming “Boston Strong.” That man has been identified as Kayvon Edson.
A source tells WBZ-TV that when the Edson was stopped by police, he told them he had a rice cooker in his bag. That is when the Bomb Squad was called to the scene...[T]he rice cooker in the bag was full of confetti. More, see source.
Elsewhere, it should be noted that yesterday was the anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. And this news is hitting the wires, a South Korean ship with about 450 passengers is sinking off the country's southwestern coast.

Aurora Name Game Surfaces In Overland Park Shootings

Posted on 2:31 AM by Gawar

Aurora. Aurora. Aurora.
The goddess of the dawn.
The name is back to haunt us, now in connection to the Overland Park shootings.

As I detailed after the The Dark Knight Rises deaths in Aurora, Colorado, a new red dawn appeared to be in evidence.

Now, hidden in the name game and lexilinks of the Overland Park, Kansas events, Aurora dawns again.

The shootings at the Jewish-related sites on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2014, resulted in three deaths.

Authorities announced Sunday night that in custody was none other than Frazier Glenn Cross, Jr., 73, who is suspected of fatally shooting a 14-year-old Methodist Eagle Scout and his grandfather in the parking lot at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City campus in Overland Park then gunning down a woman at Village Shalom, a retirement community.

The two identified victims are Dr. William Lewis Corporon and his 14-year-old grandson, Reat Griffin Underwood, both members of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood.

Also known as Frazier Glenn Miller or simply Glenn Miller, he lives in Aurora, Missouri.

The population of the town is about 7500, and it lies in Lawrence County. Between 1911 and 1920, the virulently anti-Catholic newspaper The Menace was published in Aurora by W. F. Phelps and Earl McClure. It achieved a national circulation of over one million, according to the March 1932 issue of American Mercury.

Miller has a long track record of racist and anti-Semitic activities.

Frazier Glenn Miller, Jr. (b. Nov 23, 1940),...is the former leader of the defunct North Carolina-based White Patriot Party (formerly known as the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan). Convicted of criminal charges related to weapons and violation of an injunction against paramilitary activity, he is a perennial candidate for public office. He is an advocate of white nationalism, white separatism, and anti-Semitic theories; and a critic of homosexuality and Third World immigration into historically White nations.
As a member of the racist hate group, “The Order,” which advocated violence against Jews and African-Americans, Miller was involved in the assassination of Denver, Colorado radio talk show host, Alan Berg, in 1984:
"Ten members of The Order were tried and convicted under Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) statutes, and with the help of the testimony of Frazier Glenn Miller, Jr., who testified against Order members in order to have his own sentence reduced.”
...
In 1980 Miller founded the White Patriot Party, which developed from the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, a local chapter. It was a paramilitary organization with an ideology influenced by the Christian Identity theology. Miller was the leader and principal spokesman for the organization until his arrest in 1987, after which the organization soon dissolved.
After the Southern Poverty Law Center surreptitiously accessed the WPP computer systems, it presented evidence in court indicating the WPP leadership was planning the assassination of SPLC leader Morris Dees. The court issued an injunction barring the WPP, and Miller specifically, from engaging in paramilitary activity. The WPP was avowedly pro-Apartheid, and openly advocated the establishment of an all-White ethnostate in the territory of the American South.
During his time as leader of the WPP, Miller unsuccessfully sought both the Democratic Party's 1984 nomination for Governor of North Carolina, and the 1986 Republican Party's nomination for a seat in the United States Senate.
After going underground, Miller was arrested on April 30, 1987, on numerous Federal criminal charges in the company of three other men (Tony Wydra, Robert "Jack" Jackson, and Douglas Sheets), who were also taken into Federal custody. After his arrest, Miller agreed to testify against several other defendants in a major Federal sedition trial in Arkansas. He served three years (1987-1990) in Federal prison, following his conviction for weapons violations, as well as for violating the injunction proscribing him from engaging in paramilitary activities.

After his release from prison, Miller wrote an autobiography, A White Man Speaks Out, which was privately published in 1999. By 2002 he had moved to Aurora, Missouri. Miller has since become affiliated with the Vanguard News Network of Alex Linder, which is an anti-Semitic, white nationalist website....Miller's [was] interviewed on The Alan Colmes Show and by phone on The Howard Stern Show. Source.
Miller was involved in the rally and leadership which resulted in the The Greensboro massacre, which occurred on November 3, 1979 in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. Five protest marchers were shot and killed, allegedly, by members of either Miller's group, the American Nazi Party, and/or the KKK. While eyewitnesses stated it was a klansman who fired the first shot, Frazier Glenn Miller said the first shots were fired from a handgun by an anti-Klan demonstrator.

But what is the reality behind this man? As Michael Hoffman notes elsewhere and summarizes in the comments section, "Frazier Glenn Miller, the accused shooter, is a former informant for the Federal government having testified for the prosecution in a landmark 1989 'sedition' trial of militiamen, Klansmen and 'Order' members at Ft. Smith, Arkansas."

After Miller moved to Aurora in 2002, he began publishing his paper, The White Patriot Leader. It included articles by Miller, and former KKK leader David Duke, as well as a recommended reading list which included Mein Kampf, and The Turner Diaries, a racist novel that supposedly inspired Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.

In 2008, Miller's son, Jesse, was killed in a shootout.
Frazier Glenn Miller, who once went to prison for refusing to shut down his paramilitary White Patriot Party, wrote in a blog post that he doesn't know why his son shot the "white man" who had pulled over to help him after a traffic accident.
But that didn't stop Miller from naming a scapegoat: the Springfield, Mo., Police Department.
The shooting was part of a bizarre string of events on March 28 that began with a car accident and culminated in the death of Miller's son, Jesse. Early that afternoon, an SUV driven by Jesse Miller, 30, hit a pick-up truck in Marionville, Mo. When Joseph M. Rich, 55, stopped to offer assistance, Jesse Miller killed him with a shotgun he had in his vehicle. Soon afterward, a Marionville, Mo., police officer arrived and ordered Miller to put down his weapon. Miller responded by shooting the officer, who then shot Miller dead. The officer, Andy Clark, suffered a non-life threatening shoulder wound. Source.
In 2014, it now appears that Glenn Miller of Aurora, Missouri, visited his violent history upon Overland Park, Kansas.

April is turning into the kind of month we thought it might be.

Shootings At Kansas Jewish Sites By Alleged Hitler Lover

Posted on 12:54 PM by Gawar
Please see an update to this story, here.

Three people are dead due to shootings at two separate Jewish-related locations in Overland Park, Kansas. One suspect is reportedly in custody. Overland Park police arrested the man in the parking lot of Valley Park elementary. He yelled "Heil Hitler" at onlookers.

The critically injured received emergency surgery at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, authorities confirm. Some did not survive.

The initial shooting was reported about 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City, according to an Overland Park Fire Department spokesman. This happened at the Lewis and Shirley White Theatre inside the center.

The gunfire at the west side of the campus came as hundreds of high school singers from across the metro area were expected to audition for the KC SuperStar contest, while elsewhere there actors were rehearsing for an evening production of “To Kill a Mockingbird.” Parents were frantically trying to get to their children.

The second shooting was reported at Village Shalom, which is an assisted living center at 5500 West 123rd St.

Worried relatives of residents tell KCTV5 that Village Shalom has been placed on lockdown.

Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889, in Braunau am Inn, Austria, and died on April 30, 1945, in Berlin, Germany.

Bundy Ranch

Posted on 7:48 AM by Gawar

In 2014, the moniker "Bundy" is linked to events reminding many of Ruby Ridge, Waco, and other similar situations. The Bundy Standoff (also known as the Bundy Ranch Standoff and the Siege of Bundy Ranch) is an ongoing standoff between the United States Bureau of Land Management and cattle farmer Cliven Bundy. The standoff originated when the BLM accused Bundy of herding cattle which threatened the desert tortoise.

Reports of black helicopters being used to herd Bundy cattle to be caught and killed by the BLM has further incited anger in the Old West, and raised fears of government conspiracy and mistreatment. The BLM has designated "First Amendment areas," deemed as the only place where protesters (in support of Bundy) are allowed to exercise their First Amendment rights.

It will be recalled that the Waco Siege (also known as the Waco Massacre) was a standoff and assault of a compound belonging to the religious group Branch Davidians by American federal and Texas state law enforcement and military between February 28 and April 19, 1993.

Four ATF agents and six Branch Davidians killed in initial raid. A 51-day siege ensued, ending with an FBI assault during which the compound burned down, killing 76 people, including many children, inside, including David Koresh. Eleven people who left the compound were arrested.

As a direct result of the events at Waco were cited as the primary motivation for the perpetrators of the Oklahoma City bombing that took place exactly two years later in 1995.

Timothy McVeigh cited the Waco incident as a primary motivation for the Oklahoma City bombing, his April 19, 1995 truck bomb attack that destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, a U.S. government office complex in downtown Oklahoma City, and destroyed or damaged numerous other buildings in the vicinity. The attack claimed 168 lives (including 19 children under the age of 6) and left over 600 injured in the deadliest act of terrorism on U.S. soil prior to the September 11 attacks, and as of 2014 it remains the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in American history.

The Murrah building had been previously targeted in October 1983 by white supremacist group The Covenant, The Sword, and the Arm of the Lord, including founder James Ellison and Richard Snell. The group had plotted to park "a van or trailer in front of the Federal Building and blow it up with rockets detonated by a timer." After Snell's appeal for murdering two people in unrelated cases was denied, he was executed the same day as the Murrah bombing. Richard Wayne Snell (May 21, 1930 – April 19, 1995) watched the television reports of the Murrah Building bombing before he was put to death in Arkansas.

In his last words before being executed, Snell addressed then-Governor Jim Guy Tucker:
Governor Tucker, look over your shoulder; justice is coming. I wouldn't trade places with you or any of your cronies. Hell has victories. I am at peace.

Other events sharing the date of fire at Mt. Carmel have been mentioned in discussions of the Waco siege. The April 20, 1999, Columbine High School massacre might have been timed to mark either an anniversary of the FBI's assault at Waco or Adolf Hitler's birthday. Some of the connections appear coincidental. April 19 was the date from the American Revolution's opening battles ("the shot heard round the world") and was also the date of the opening of the siege on the CSAL group in Arkansas in 1985. On April 17, 2013, a fertilizer plant exploded at West near Waco, two days after the Boston Marathon bombings that some speculatively connected to an upcoming 20th anniversary of the Waco incident of 1993, as well as to an anniversary of the Virginia Tech massacre of April 16, 2007.

Another Link: Ruby Ridge

The Siege of Ruby Ridge has been cited as a precursor to what may be unfolding at the Bundy Ranch standoff. Ruby Ridge was the site of a deadly confrontation and siege in northern Idaho between August 21 – August 31, 1992 against Randy Weaver, his family and his friend Kevin Harris by agents of the United States Marshals Service (USMS) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). It resulted in the death of Weaver's son Sammy, his wife Vicki, and Deputy U.S. Marshal William Francis Degan.

It appears an April encounter with a helicopter was behind why people were killed at Ruby Ridge. Following an April 18, 1992 fly-over by a helicopter for the Geraldo Rivera "Now It Can Be Told" TV show, US Marshal Service HQ received media reports that Weaver had fired on the helicopter. That day in Idaho, a US Marshals team was installing surveillance cameras overlooking the Weaver property at the time of the fly-over. The field report for April 18, 1992 filed by Marshal W. Warren Mays reported seeing a helicopter near the Weaver property, but not hearing any shots fired.

Weaver then granted an interview with a newspaper reporter in which he, family and friends present that day denied firing on the helicopter. The helicopter pilot Richard Weiss eventually gave FBI FD-302 interviews denying that Weaver fired on his helicopter.

The media reports that Weaver had fired on the Rivera helicopter became part of the justification later cited by USMS Wayne "Duke" Smith and FBI HRT Commander Richard Rogers in drawing up the Ruby Ridge Rules of Engagement on August 21–22, 1992. Also, in spite of Richard Weiss' repeated denials that shots had been fired at his helicopter, US Attorney Ron Howen would charge that, as Overt Act 32 of the Weaver's Conspiracy Against the Federal Government, Randy, Vicki and Harris fired two shots at the Rivera helicopter.

Bundy

Formerly, the name "Bundy" was associated with an infamous serial killer of the 1970s. The adopted son of Johnny Culpepper Bundy, Ted Bundy (November 24, 1946 – January 24, 1989) would go on to kill perhaps 30 young women in seven states between 1974 and 1978.

The quick meaning of the name Bundy is "free."

A little more digging shows links to the fate of Cliven Bundy:
Bundy: This interesting surname, of Anglo-Saxon origin, with variant spellings Bownd, Bownde, Bounde, was at first a status surname for a peasant farmer or husbandman. The derivation is from the Olde English pre 7th Century "bonda, bunda", reinforced by the Old Norse "bonde, bondi", in Middle English, "bonde". The ultimate derivation is disputed; it may be connected with the Olde English "buan", to dwell, hence "buende", a dweller, but is thought more likely to be from "bindan", to bind. It was originally used to signify a farmer holding lands from and bound by loyalty to a lord, and hence a free landowner. After the Norman Conquest the name became associated with the idea of bound servitude. Source.

Separate Mass Stabbing Incidents Hit Two Superlative Sites

Posted on 10:39 AM by Gawar

Mass stabbings hit two unique locations on April 9th. One is known for formerly having "the world's largest arboreal sign" and "the largest commercial gas well in the world." The other is still famed for being "the longest street in the world."

While mass shootings have been common in North America, mass stabbing events are more frequent in China & Japan (see here, here, here, and here).  A well-publicized American incident did occur in Texas in 2013.

Murrysville, Pennsylvania

Seven teens and one adult are being treated after a stabbing incident at a Pennsylvania high school and some of the injuries are "clearly life threatening," according to a doctor at Forbes Regional Hospital. The teens had stab wounds to their torsos, abdomen, chest and back areas, he said.

The stabbings occurred at the Franklin Regional Senior High School to youth with ages  ranging from 14 to 17.
A Disney Dreamworks movie, I Am Number Four, was filmed at the school in 2010. It was based on a book with the same name. The sequel to the book was called The Power of Six, writes the Newspaceman.

The suspect, a male student, was in custody after the stabbings at the school in Murrysville, about 15 miles east of downtown Pittsburgh. Update: The suspect in the Pennsylvania school stabbings is identified in court documents as Alex Hribal, 16. He has been charged as an adult.

Hribal's Facebook page is adorned with a picture of Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide nearly exactly 20 years ago. The social media profile includes a reference to Hitler. He allegedly lived on Sunflower Court in Murrysville, Pennsylvania.

The suspect was described as wielding two knives simultaneously during the attack.

The injured were admitted to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, with stab wounds.

"These are all very serious injuries," hospital spokesman Jesse Miller said in a telephone interview.

The first 911 call was received at 7:13 a.m. EDT. The attacks took place in several classrooms and hallways as the school day began. Zak Amsler, a 17-year-old junior at the school, said the attack occurred just before his first class was scheduled to begin.

"I saw a girl with blood running out of her sleeve," Amsler said as he waited to pick up his younger sister, a student at the nearby middle school. "It was pretty mind-blowing."

Stevens, the county official, noted that the scene had been contained. "The students that are here are safe," he told reporters.

The Haymaker Gas Well in Murrysville was the nation's first commercial natural gas well. For some time, it remained the largest commercial gas well in the world.
Since 1933, Murrysville has had a "tree sign" spelling out the word "Murrysville". The trees were landscaped to grow and form the letters by local Boy Scouts. The sign is situated on a large hill as one enters the Municipality from the Murrysville–Monroeville border, near U.S. Route 22. In 1947, the sign was featured in "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" as the world's largest arboreal sign. (It is no longer the world's largest, or even the largest in the country; "Luecke", near San Antonio, Texas, is much larger.) The "Y" in the Murrysville sign points to the Haymaker Gas Well. Source.

Toronto, Ontario

Just after 9:30 am ET also on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, Toronto police responded to multiple 911 calls from an office building on Yonge Street near York Mills Ave.

One man, apparently Asian, (shown here) was placed in custody after Toronto police say at least four people were stabbed (by scissors) at the building in the northern part of the city.

Police say the attack happened on the fifth floor of an office complex at 4110 Yonge St., near York Mills Avenue.

CBC News has confirmed that four people were taken to hospital with stab wounds.

A man and a woman in their 30s are among the people who were stabbed. The two suffered multiple, serious stab wounds, according to police, and are in critical condition in hospital. Two other males whose ages are not known were transported with serious wounds to a trauma centre.
Yonge Street (pronounced "young street") is a major arterial route connecting the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto to Lake Simcoe, a gateway to the Upper Great Lakes. It was formerly listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest street in the world at 1,896 km (1,178 mi). The construction of Yonge Street is designated an Event of National Historic Significance in Canada. Yonge Street was fundamental in the original planning and settlement of western Upper Canada in the 1790s, informing the basis of the concession roads in Ontario today. Long the southernmost leg of Highway 11, linking the capital with northern Ontario, Yonge Street has been referred to as "Main Street Ontario". A large part of the route follows an ancient well-established Aboriginal trail that linked the Lake Ontario waterfront to northern parts of the region. It was also the site of Canada's first subway line. Source.
